Rudin’s 3 Times Square in NYC lures in new tenants after $25M upgrade

West Publishing Corporation, a unit of Thomson Reuters, has extended its lease for five more years at 3 Times Square in New York. The move comes as Touro College celebrates the opening of its new, consolidated campus in the tower, having inked a landmark deal for 243,000 square feet earlier this year. Rudin had much available space to fill in the bright 885,000 square-foot tower which stands at Broadway and West 42nd Street, after Thomson Reuters, its ownership partner, moved out along with other tenants. In the last 18 months, more than 430,000 square feet have been leased at the property. Rudin recently invested $25m in upgrading the tower’s facilities, including a new triple-height lobby and sculptural facade screen. The improvements helped attract tenants to the tower, including Remy Cointreau and Anchin, Block & Anchin.

New Tenants Attracted to Rudin’s 3 Times Square in NYC Following $25M Upgrade

West Publishing Corporation, a unit of Thomson Reuters, has renewed its lease at Rudin’s 3 Times Square for five more years, signaling continued progress at the tower. Over the past 18 months, more than 430,000 square feet of space have been leased at the brightly-lit, 885,000 square-foot tower at Broadway and West 42nd Street. Earlier this year, in April, Touro College celebrated the opening of its new, consolidated campus at the tower, having signed a landmark deal there in January for 243,000 square feet. However, Rudin had previously needed to fill a lot of space after Thomson Reuters, which is Rudin’s ownership partner, moved out along with several other tenants. Rudin responded with a $25 million property upgrade, with architects FXCollaborative brought in to create a new triple-height lobby and sculptural facade screen. The improvements helped persuade other tenants, including Remy Cointreau and Anchin, Block & Anchin, to take up residence in the building.
