Boston Celtics co-owner and billionaire financier Stephen Pagliuca, along with his wife, biotech investor Judy Pagliuca, have put their Massachusetts home on the market for $9 million. Nestled in Weston, a suburb outside of Boston, the couple purchased the estate in 1995 for $875,000 before tearing down the initial structure and constructing a sprawling 15,300-square-foot estate, all situated on four acres of lush greenery.

Sources indicate that the couple is selling their home now that their children have grown up and are looking to downsize. Over the span of almost three decades, several amenities have been added to the property, including two basketball courts, tennis courts, indoor and outdoor pools, a spa, a gym, a movie theater, a game room with a bar, and even a wine cellar.

The property features seven bedrooms, nine baths, a two-story foyer, a banquet-sized dining room, and a sitting room that leads to the garden. The kitchen is also equipped with a breakfast room and an expansive pantry. Additionally, there is a separate 1,300-square-foot pool house.

Located on the second level is the grand primary suite and six additional bedrooms. Pagliuca, 68, a former co-chairman of Bain Capital, built the house with an elevator.

Listed by George Sarkis of The Sarkis Team at Douglas Elliman, Weston is among the most desirable suburbs in Boston. In May, the average sale price for a single-family home was $2.99 million, up 8.8% from the prior year.

Pagliuca, who was once a Duke University basketball player, is a regular in the front row of Celtics games. The team almost made it to the finals, but they were defeated in the semis against the Miami Heat. In 2022, Pagliuca led an investor group’s purchase of a majority stake in the Italian soccer club Atalanta, of which he is now a co-owner and co-chairman.
