Legendary British fashion journalist Sarajane Hoare has put her Upper East Side home up for sale for $1.25 million. The one-bedroom co-op property, which is part of a classic boutique prewar building at 59 E. 75th St., has been reduced in price from $1.59 million last year. Hoare purchased the property for $1 million in 2007. The 715-square-feet, fourth-floor home is one of eight units in the elevator building and enjoys hardwood floors, high ceilings, large windows, a woodburning fireplace and a private terrace which overlooks gardens and the back of the Carlyle hotel. Hoare’s primary residence is in London, and describes her New York home as “a home away from home that feels more like London or Europe”. Legendary British fashion journalist and author Sarajane Hoare is selling her one-bedroom Upper East Side home for $1.25 million. Hoare, who bought the co-op in a classic boutique prewar building on East 75th Street in 2007 for $1 million, has decided to let go of the unit at a marked-down price from last year’s $1.59 million. The apartment is located on the fourth floor of a five-story elevator building, one of eight units. It features hardwood floors, high ceilings, large windows, a wood-burning fireplace and a private terrace offering views of gardens and the back of the Carlyle hotel. Known for her work at Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue and Vanity Fair and her collaborations with famous photographers such as Herb Ritts and Patrick Demarchelier, Hoare often worked from home, and famous faces such as Emma Watson have visited the apartment to try on outfits. The apartment, listed by Erin Boisson Aries and Dustin Crouse of Douglas Elliman, offers a nice, easy vibe that is “flooded with light, and very airy, without clutter,” according to Hoare.
