Anne Mahlum, the founder and former CEO of Pilates studio chain Solidcore, has bought a triplex penthouse located at 260 Bowery in Nolita. Originally priced at $8.99 million, Mahlum snagged the spread for $8.35 million and plans to use it as an investment. However, it is now available for rent at $47,500 a month, up from its $39,000 a month asking price last March under the previous owner. The veteran ab-trepreneur has revealed that the reason for her purchase was because “it’s a buyer’s market and the timing was great. It’s a beautiful space at an attractive price, and the neighborhood will continue to grow”.

The penthouse is located within an eight-story, five-unit boutique condo designed by Morris Adjmi Architects that was built in 2018 and spans over 4,156 square feet with four bedrooms, four bathrooms, and 1,174 square feet of outdoor space. The main features include a gym, formal dining area, separate office and custom chef’s kitchen, as well as the rooftop lounge with an outdoor kitchen and sprawling city views. The primary bedroom suite is equipped with a walk-in closet, ensuite spa-like bath, private balcony and floor-to-ceiling glass doors.

Mahlum, whose primary residence is in North Dakota, already owns properties in Chelsea and California and has recently launched Ambition, a new gym chain that opened in Brooklyn Heights, with additional locations planned for Flatiron and Chelsea. The listing broker was Tal Alexander of Official, while Mahlum was represented by Scott Francis and Elaine Dealy of Serhant.
